Some Tips:
For best results, use Challah, Brioche, or Sour Dough bread
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 loaf of bread
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup half and half
- 15oz pumpkin puree
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 3 TBSP melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 TSP vanilla
- 1 TBSP pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease an oven-safe dish
- Cut the loaf of bread into 1-2 inch cubes then spread them around the dish
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream , half & half, pumpkin puree, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice
- Once combined, pour over the bread slowly to cover all the pieces. Gently push down the cubes to ensure everything is coated
- Bake for 1 hour
- For the sauce, melt together the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan for 2-3 minutes stirring frequently
- Reduce to low heat then slowly add in heavy cream then the vanilla
- Return the medium heat and let it simmer.
- Then cook for 2-3 mins stirring constantly until it thickens
