Some Tips:
Make sure your oil is hot enough and that you have enough oil
Lay out a pan of paper towels because they cook decently fast
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 bag poi (fresh kalo would be 1lb)
- 1 box mochiko flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- canola oil for frying
DIRECTIONS:
- Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl (not including the frying oil)
- Heat up the frying oil until it hits 365-375 degrees.
- The frying oil should be in a deep bowl enough to cover the whole mochi ball
- The smaller the ball, the easier it will be because you do not want it to stick to the bottom
- If it does stick to the bottom, then let it cook and release itself
- It will be golden brown when it is done then transfer to the pan with paper towel
