Some Tips:
Leave the butter in the fridge until ready to use so it is as cold as possible
Make sure to use fatty content milk and sour cream to give it good texture
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 TSP baking powder
- 2 TBSP matcha powder
- pinch of salt
- 5 TBSP butter (cubed)
- 1/2 cup white choco chips
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 egg
DIRECTIONS:
- Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl - flour, sugar, baking powder, matcha, and salt
- Cube the butter and rub between the fingers to make pea-sized lumps in the dry
- Mix in the chocolate chips
- Whisk together the milk and sour cream then pour into the dry ingredients
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
- Grease a pan and lay down parchement paper
- Scoop into 7-8 depending on how big you want your scones
- Whisk together an egg and a TBSP of milk then use a brush to egg wash the scones
- Optional - Freeze them for 10 minutes first before baking
- Bake in the oven for 13-15 minutes
- Usually done when the tops are cracked and have some hints of golden color on the top
