APPLE PIE

Some Tips:

Make sure the butter is just out of the fridge to keep the dough crumbly.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2.5 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 Sticks Butter (Cubed)
  • 8 TBSP Iced Water
  • 4 Granny Smith Apples
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3 TBSP All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Packed Brown Sugar

DIRECTIONS:

  • Fork together flour and salt
  • Add in the cubed butter and use the fork to smoosh it into the dough
  • Gradually add in the iced water until all the dough comes together
  • With your hands, work with the dough into a disc and saran wrap it. Then place in the fridge
  • For the filling, peel and slice the apples to your liking
  • In a saucepan, put together the butter and flour then mix until incorporated
  • Add in the water, white sugar, and packed brown sugar
  • Take off the heat and pour over apples in a bowl then stir
